Little Swim School was at ActiveSG Open House at Yio Chu Kang Swimming Complex on Saturday, 3rd May 2014!

Spearheaded by Sport Singapore (formerly known as Singapore Sports Council), ActiveSG is its latest all-encompassing, nation-wide initiative to promote a healthier and more active lifestyle through sports. Little Swim School was selected as one of the participating partners for our specialty in infant and toddler swimming lessons.

ActiveSG-OpenHouse-3Although our slot was scheduled for 5pm, we arrived early to check out the venue. Yio Chu Kang Swimming Complex was transformed into one big carnival venue, with balloons, music, ushers, volunteers and pocket event booths peppered throughout the vicinity. The crowd was streaming in constantly, and the numerous booths, pocket events, and the volunteers ensured everyone was engaged and in-tune with the spirit of ActiveSG.

As it neared 5pm, the sky was overcast, and dark clouds hovered ominously over our heads. Fortunately, we were given the all-clear as weather conditions improved. We held a demonstration session on what typically happens at our baby swimming classes, followed by a trial session for parents/babies who have pre-registered. Not surprisingly, there were parents who saw our demo sessions and joined us (along with their little ones) on the spot!

Little Swim School fully supports ActiveSG’s vision of an inclusive sporting environment where everyone, regardless of age or fitness levels, can participate and reap the immense benefits of an active and sporting lifestyle. And if the turnout and response during the Open House was any indication, it is certainly on the right path.

Meantime, check out some pictures below!
